On the forum you will find discussions about things like:

"How do you run your lesson program"

"Are your teachers your employee or independent contractors?"

"What brands are selling or not selling in your store?"

"What are your repair fees?"

Those are just a few examples of the kind of subjects you find on the forum and of course you can start new threads and ask any questions you  would like an answer to or just want to discuss.

Our member's stores range anywhere from one man operations in small towns to larger dealers in larger cities.  Every genuine Indy music store owner is welcome. We have very few requirements for joining:

• Store MUST have a brick and mortar physical location and keep regular hours that they are open to the public.

Running a web only or EBAY type of retail operation will not accepted.

• Only the OWNER can join.  Employees come and go, but the owner is in it for the long haul. (This is to protect the privacy  of all members.)

• Owners must be involved in the day to day operation of the business and the store cannot be a publicly held

corporation.

Members are always checked out before being granted access to our forums. This is to be sure that we don't

have consumers masquerading as music retailers trying to join.

MSO is a true grass roots group made up of Indy stores and is a volunteer group. The work is done by the

members and for the members.  No member is being paid or making a profit in any way.
